The Crystal Vein Niobium Ring is hand forged from pure niobium, shaped and textured individually in Alice Fry’s studio. Each band carries a distinctive sparkling surface — hammered by hand and inspired by geological formations, crystal structures and shimmering mineral veins.
Visions of futuristic, celestial crystals are translated into metal. Using electricity, the ring is anodised to create luminous blue and purple interference colours that dance in the light. This striking effect comes from niobium oxide built up on the surface using electricity in the anodising process, refracting and reflecting light to create a shifting, otherworldly illusion of colour.
No two rings are ever identical — each one captures its own unique play of texture and tone.

What is Niobium?
Niobium is the 41st metal in the periodic table (Nb) that’s durable, hypoallergenic, lightweight and strong — perfect for jewellery!
Ideal for jewellery, niobium can be anodised to achieve vibrant colours without dyes or coatings. Using different voltages (as pictured), you can create a range of colours, including: yellows, pinks, purples, blues and greens.
