The "crystal" shape is made from a flat sheet of niobium metal. It is formed into shape using the ancient technique of chasing andrepoussé. Once formed, it is anodised to create the iridescent colour, which appears blue in some angles and lights, and purple in others. The silver setting was custom-made to the niobium crystal.
