Blue Anodised Niobium Crystal and Rutilated Silver Brooch

This statement brooch was made in sterling silver and anodised blue niobium, with a steel pin.

Inspired by crystal facets and slender, needle-like crystals known as "Acicular", as seen in rutilated quartz.

The crystal shape was made using the technique "chasing and repoussé" from a sheet of niobium, which was then anodised using electricity to create the iridescent colour.

Materials: Niobium, sterling silver, steel.
