Blue John Stone Candlestick

This design evolved from a sample of copper that was a direct response from a Blue John Stone specimen bought at Treak Cliff Cavern in the Peak District. I used the ancient technique of chasing and repoussé to create the shapes and forms on the copper.
Working on Adobe Photoshop, I layered some of my textured samples of silver and titanium on top of the sample. Separately in Adobe Illustrator, I worked on a basic candlestick form, covered in titanium shards. It was a happy accident that layering the two designs together created an aesthetic that describes my intentions for my degree show work.
This design would be made in silver and titanium. If you would like to commission this piece from me, please contact me.
