Blue John Stone Candlestick
This design evolved from a sample of copper that was a direct response from a Blue John Stone specimen bought at Treak Cliff Cavern in the Peak District.
I used the ancient technique of chasing and repoussé to create the shapes and forms on the copper.
Working on Adobe Photoshop, I layered some of my textured samples of silver and titanium on top of the sample.
Separately in Adobe Illustrator, I worked on a basic candlestick form, covered in titanium shards.
It was a happy accident that layering the two designs together created an aesthetic that describes my intentions for my degree show work.
This design would be made in silver and titanium.
